Happy Anniversary
COGI began on the 2nd Sunday of September, 2002.
This year, our 3rd
annuversary falls on the commemorative date of the terrorist attacks on
the Twin Towers in Manhattan, New York.
Recognizing the tragic
devastation, we are reminded of the many stories we heard and read that
illustrated God's grace and sovereignty in the midst of tragedy.
The many
stories that came to us first hand grom those that flooded into Manhattan
to help, spoke of a city's transformation, a once proud populous on
their knees praying for Divine intervention.
Evidently it takes a
devastating terrorist attack or monstrous tsunami or hurricane or some other
widespread natural or un-natural disaster in people's lives to bring
them to their knees before their Creator.
Only the Lord knows exactly
what it takes for each of us to cry out to Him.
In the last 3 years we have seen an ebb and flow in the ministries of
COGI.
We have enjoyed witnessing healthy growth in Christ like seeing
brother Frank Pecor head out to Calvary Chapel Bible College!
Our
prayers are with you and your family, my brother!
We have also witnessed
what started out as excitement and interst in the things of God become a
lukewarm condition of the heart.
May we all take heed to Jesus'
message to the church of Laodicea in Revelation 3:14-22.
Through God's grace, may we be counted faithful as the church of
Philadelphia in Revelation 3:7-13.
Though we are small in numbers, may we
be faithful to live His word and persevere, looking forward to our
promised reward: co-heirs with Him in Heaven.
Today also marks the last Sunday service before Kristian Landry takes
off to spend 4 months with 21 other young men in service and
discipleship under Pastor Jon Courson in Mexico!
